The Stylish Way to Wear Your Words.

I think it’s okay to blame graphic tees for giving wordy fashion a bad name. There are some really, really, bad graphic tees out there (just take a peek on F21′s website and you’ll see what I mean). Pinky promise me, if you have one of those in your closet, it is hidden away in that spot where all of your other oopsie shopping decisions live? … or if you must, the gym would be a great place to use and abuse it :)

Instead of focusing on the scary ways to wear your feelings on your chest, it’s more fun to focus on the glamourous options to help you make a statement with your upper half. There are some super adorable ways to say how you feel this season, without even making a peep!

Below are a few of my favorite finds for the ladies, and even one of my favorite Gap Kids looks for the littlest of ladies!

1.  Ganni Holy Sh*t Sweatshirt.    2. Markus Lupfer Toes Amaze Sequin Jumper.    3. Kate Spade Garance Dore Studio Pull Over.    4. Gap Kids Paris Graphic T.    5. StyleStalker Bastille My Heart Sweatshirt.

I will admit that the Holy Sh*t Sweatshirt mightttt be pushing the envelope a wee bit, but another part of me feels like your boyfriend might adore it on you on a casual date night out… right?

There is nothing wrong with wearing your heart on your chest, in fact I think all of these positive affirmations could do this crazy world a little good.

And for my girls that still can’t be convinced into wearing the bold statement, there are other ways to quietly sneak a fun phrase or two into your wardrobe. Rebecca Minkoff makes me laugh every time I open my purse, just check out her beyond adorable “Benjamins” pouch … and who could ever say no to wearing an inspiring Kate Spade bangle?

However you choose to express yourself when you get dressed in the morning, keep it cheerful and you might put a smile on someone’s face who needed it that day!

5 Fall Shoe Trends to Travel in.

1. Ivanka Trump Driver (in taupe).    2. Prada Driver (in ink blue).    3. Frye Melissa Boot (in saddle)    4. DV Penn Boot (in cognac)    5. House of Harlow Stud Toe Flat (in black).    6. J.Crew Mila Cap Toe Flat (in champagne).    7. Hunter Regent Carlyle Rain Boot (in cafe latte).

This is the best starting five I ever did see on the shelves of my shoe closet for the Fall.

Driving Moccasins

Riding Boots

Animal Prints

Booties

Statement toe flats

Simply couldn’t have a better team of shoes to discover the world in, wherever your adventures may take you this fall….

Instead of Toms, treat yourself to the House of Harlow flats that are out this season. Still super comfortable, but a lot more sturdy and they add a little twinkle to your step. And when it comes to deciding what to pack for a Fall weekend getaway or for a day trip to soak in fall at the shore, I wouldn’t steer you wrong from slipping your toesies into a good pair of suede driving mocs! The trends are comfortable, so that means that this year, traveling in style is just a wee bit easier!

I showed you a sneak peek of my office last week. Now that it is all done, I find myself never leaving! Trying to launch a new business, design a website, and create a lot of test product became suddenly even  more enjoyable in my sunny new space. I made sure to stock it with everything I need to feel comfortable and taken care of. So with that, I thought I would share with you a few little tips on how to make working from home an even more enjoyable experience…

1. NUMBER ONE! (it’s important) Treat yourself to a beautiful space. If this is going to be where you create, do it big.

via

If you need ideas, my Office pinboard has tons!

2. Always have candles burning, or spray with your favorite scents. It makes you feel all warm and cozy

Anthro Candles are my fave indulgence.

via

3. Get out of those jammies. If you are going to wear sweats, make sure they were sweats you would wear around your friends. Better yet, get dressed for the day! The outfit above is classic and comfortable.

4. Work hard, but not too hard that you forget to take care of yourself. Take a moment to have a bite to eat, and always keep water near you.

Each morning I bring my breakfast up from the kitchen. One of my favorite treats, cereal in my Ikea Pokal Tumbler with a long milkshake spoon. The ceramic keeps the milk so nice and cold!

I also make sure I fill up a pitcher of water with ice and keep it somewhere on my desk.

Little details are important, and styling your space, and yourself properly shouldn’t get swept under your chevron rug! :)

I am still waiting for mine to arrive from this Etsy shop!

Try to enjoy every minute of your day. If you love what you are doing, it is never work!

Little Bites in the Big City.

The city was glistening this weekend. When my friend Wesley at Free People asked me to bring sweets to their holiday coat drive event in December, all I could think about was how perfect NYC is for the holidays. Everywhere you turn the store windows are festive, the fashion is cozy, and as annoying as shoving your way through midtown might be, there is no better time of the year to see the city alive.

Now, when we think holiday desserts, there are a few classics, that we can’t seem to keep our hands off of. No holiday season passes in my house without peppermint bark, gingerbread cutouts, sugar cookies, and decorated spritz cookies. With a small budget, I had to be selective… with desserts? Almost, impossible!

As much as I wanted to create little Free People gingerbread girls – I will have to save that for another day :)

Instead… I did Holidays the Free People way. Hot pinks and bright sparkley colors – and everything but red & green.

Feel Good Friday.

Welcome to the weekend loveys! Time to spill all of your spooky plans for the next two days. Any cute costumes in the works? Fun holiday theme parties? What kind of candy did you buy for your trick or treaters?? My personal faves are sour patch kids and mini reese peanut butter cups. Yum. Have you ever made your own PBcups? If you need something fun to do this weekend, check out my recipe for how to make them at home. I myself try to forget I know how to make them because they are oh so addicting.

Take a look at my fun project for the weekend! I will be babysitting my three little munchkins overnight, and a graveyard cake is definitely on the to do list. I am thinking of adapting the idea and to use a collection of cupcakes instead of a cake or pudding – I love the idea of chocolate covered strawberries as pumpkins, white chocolate covered nutter butters as ghosts, and milano tombstones. I always have so much fun with little helping hands…

Now for this week’s feel good friday clicks!

We Love to Eat.

My Aunt Vera and I have this little thing we sing every time we are together at a dining table.

It goes a little something like this … “Weee looveee to eeeeat”.

If there was a way to combine that little song with Happy Birthday, we would’ve this week. All I did was e a t. And l o v e every minute of it.

It started with my favorite, a home cooked lunch by Tita.

It ended with a 3 hour dinner at Paramour in the Wayne Hotel.

There was…

Tita’s Arabic Chicken with Lebanese Cous Cous and delicious pearl onions.

Tita’s most perfect hummus with warm pita and baby carrots.

Time To Be Grateful.

Late night blogging at its finest darlings.

I am snuggled up on the big white couch listening to the thirsty thursday going on at the bar across the street…

and I cannot stop staring at this beauty.

The gold Michael Kors Large Runway watch.

Thank you Cynthia @ the Michael Kors store at the Plaza in King of Prussia!!

An early birthday present I received today from my Aunt Vera.

Vera is the quintessential aunt. She is a mother when I deserve a swift kick in the pants and an honest earful, a best friend at every moment possible, my own personal 911 operator, biggest supporter, and of course someone I cannot imagine my life without.

As we walked out of Michael Kors, I was hugging her and she said to me, “Every time you look at this watch, I want you to take a moment to be grateful.”
